The Blackbuck National Park at Velavadar is a rich grassland and wetland ecosystem, entirely different from the sal and bamboo tiger forests of India. Spread over just 35 square kilometres, the Blackbuck National Park is the best place to see the eponymous blackbuck (male and female), alongwith the Indian grey wolf, an exemplary pack hunter. Migrant harriers between the months of November to February add to the charm of this stunning grassland.
Indian grey wolf, blackbuck, striped hyena, jungle cat, Monatgu’s harrier, pallid harrier
The magnificent Little Rann of Kutch (LRK) is spread over more than 5,000 square kilometres. The dry, parched earth in the LRK is home to several species of fauna, who thrive in this ecosystem despite the sparse vegetation. A paradise for migratory bird species and the sturdy Indian wild ass.
